Your wedding day is one of the most important and memorable occasions of your whole life and should therefore reflect your wishes entirely. Not everyone wants to have a church service these days and by using a civil celebrant, a whole range of possibilities are available to you. As a celebrant I want to make your dreams come true with a unforgettable ceremony.
Whatever venue you decide on, I can advise you on every aspect of your day. After you have legalised your marriage at a registry office, the way you choose to celebrate this event is totally yours, as regards the ceremony.
The vows you make together before your family and friends will be unique, and therefore mean so much.
There are many rituals which can be included to make your celebration special. These may consist of a sand ceremony, hand fasting, lighting a special candle, or the releasing of doves or balloons – there are many options to choose from.
*At a registry office only the contractual and declaratory words are required for a marriage to be recognised by law and a certificate issued.
Two witnesses are also required to sign the register.
Therefore, you are free to celebrate your wedding anywhere and in any way you wish afterwards, which can include the exchanging of rings.
Same Sex Marriages
The laws allowing a legal marriage for same sex couples was finalised on 29th March 2014.
I will be delighted to offer you a ceremony which is personal and expresses your love and commitment to one another. The choice of venue is open, perhaps somewhere that means a lot to you as a couple, or is charming and romantic, or spectacular. The joy in this kind of celebration is that you choose, and I help you to achieve your dream.
Whatever your beliefs, if you wish to include religious words or music in the ceremony, there are no restrictions on what is, or is not allowed. Many people of mixed faiths marry today and this can be taken into consideration when we are planning your marriage.
It is a privilege to help a couple plan and conduct the wedding they want, with those they care about joining in to share and witness this special ceremony.
